20 teams from different regions of Russia and the national team of Belarus participated in the Russian team championship. The competition was open to athletes under 21.

The Russian Junior Epee Championship in Orel saw a fencing competition among young men. Alexey Udovichenko, a student of the Institute of Agrobiotechnology, won a gold medal.
