The university hosted an open lecture by Ben-Gurion University professor Ilya Gelfand. As part of an open lecture, Ilya Gelfand presented to the audience the results of his four-year scientific research on the study of the fertilizers effect on the nitrogen oxides release from the soil. The event was attended by undergraduates, postgraduates and teachers of the Agrobiotechnology Institute and the Melioration, Water Management and Construction Institute named after A.N. Kostyakov.
Also the lecturer presented his new projects, the purpose of which is to study the biogeochemical mechanisms that control the release of nitric oxide and nitric oxide in the Negev Desert and the Dead Sea Valley soils.
At the end of the open lecture, acting Director of the Agrobiotechnology Institute Sergey Belopukhov presented the activities of the Institute's scientists, and the head of the Soil Science, Geology and Landscape Science Department Vladimir Naumov conducted an excursion for the guest in Soil and Agronomic Museum named after V.R. Williams.
The representative of the Ben-Gurion University noted the rich scientific and educational base of the Timiryazev Academy and expressed interest in cooperation with scientists from the RT SAU Ecology Department for joint research.
