Israeli University professor gave an open lecture at the Timiryazev Academy

The university hosted an open lecture by Ben-Gurion University professor Ilya Gelfand. As part of an open lecture, Ilya Gelfand presented to the audience the results of his four-year scientific research on the study of the fertilizers effect on the nitrogen oxides release from the soil. The event was attended by undergraduates, postgraduates and teachers of the Agrobiotechnology Institute and the Melioration, Water Management and Construction Institute named after A.N. Kostyakov.

Also the lecturer presented his new projects, the purpose of which is to study the biogeochemical mechanisms that control the release of nitric oxide and nitric oxide in the Negev Desert and the Dead Sea Valley soils.

At the end of the open lecture, acting Director of the Agrobiotechnology Institute Sergey Belopukhov presented the activities of the Institute's scientists, and the head of the Soil Science, Geology and Landscape Science Department Vladimir Naumov conducted an excursion for the guest in Soil and Agronomic Museum named after V.R. Williams.

The representative of the Ben-Gurion University noted the rich scientific and educational base of the Timiryazev Academy and expressed interest in cooperation with scientists from the RT SAU Ecology Department for joint research.

Timiryazev Academy retained its position in the ranking of the "greenest" universities in the world GreenMetric 2021

According to the results of participation in the world ranking UI GreenMetric World University Ranking - 2021, Timiryazev Academy took the 279th position among 956 universities from 80 countries. Among 54 Russian universities included in the rating, RSAU-Moscow Agricultural Academy is among the ten most "green".

The goal of the UI GreenMetric ranking is to rank universities according to the level of sustainable environmental development of campuses and to create an energy-saving model for managing an educational institution. The list of sustainable universities is being compiled by the University of Indonesia and published for the twelfth time. The founders of the rating strive to draw the attention of the academic community to the need to maintain a policy of sustainable development of the environment in order to solve environmental problems.

Experts of the largest agro-industrial enterprises met with students of Timiryazev Academy

The invited specialists from "Kramp", "JohnDeer" and "Avangard-Agro" JSC discussed with the students the peculiarities of agricultural machinery, its production technology and the prospects for the profession of an agricultural engineer.

The meeting raised such issues as the management system in the agro-industrial complex, the stages of development of the organization, as well as the prospects for the profession of an agricultural engineer.

Deputy Head of the Agrarian Committee of the State Duma visited the Timiryazev Academy

During visit to the university, Yulia Ogloblina got acquainted with the activities of the Center for Creativity and the University Engineering Center. The parliamentarian highly appreciated the changes that have taken place in our University in recent years, and noted the personal contribution of the rector.

As part of the round table, the results of the AgroProfi student marathon were summed up. The project is aimed at involving young people in social practice, increasing the level of social activity, identifying the most initiative students studying in agricultural educational institutions of higher education in the Russian Federation.

Our Rector discussed cooperation with the Ambassador of the Benin Republic to Russia

As part of the visit to the university, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Benin Republic to the Russian Federation, Akambi Andre Okounlola Biaou, met with the rector of the university, Professor Vladimir Trukhachev.

The meeting between the head of the Timiryazev Academy and the head of the Benin diplomatic mission took place in a particularly warm and welcoming atmosphere. The fact is that Mr. Akambi Andre Okounlola Biaou is a graduate of the Moscow Institute of Agricultural Engineers, which became part of the Timiryazev Academy in 2014. The ambassador kept a good memory of the alma mater and arrived at his home university with a visit of gratitude.

In addition, Mr. Akambi Andre Okounlola Biaou discussed with our rector the prospects for cooperation between Timiryazev Academy and scientific and educational organizations of the Benin Republic. The African state is interested in the training of professional personnel and the inflow of modern technologies in the agricultural sector, which makes up 30% of Benin's economy.
In turn, Vladimir Trukhachev congratulated the guest on the inauguration of the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Benin to the Russian Federation, which took place in October this year, and wished him success in his professional activities.

At the end of the meeting, Akambi Andre Okounlola Biaou met with students from Benin. During the visit, the distinguished guest visited the Institute of Mechanical and Power Engineering named after V.P. Goryachkin, where he got acquainted with the material and technical base of the departments. The ambassador highly appreciated the modern laboratories and educational classes that the institute has recently received at its disposal.
