The country's main agricultural university opened its doors to high school students, graduates of technical schools and colleges to talk about the professions in demand in the modern agricultural sector. A rich and exciting program awaited the guests of the event. The geography of applicants included more than ten regions of the country. In addition to the capital's schoolchildren, the university was visited by guests from Tver, Tula, Vladimir, Kaluga, Leningrad, Penza and other regions.
On behalf of the team of many thousands of the Timiryazev Academy, the rector of the university, Professor Vladimir Trukhachev addressed the prospective applicants and their parents.
The head of the university noted that the Timiryazev Academy is the only agricultural university in Russia included in the “QS” international ranking and the prestigious Green Metrix world ranking of the most environmentally friendly universities.
Future students learned that our university is actively developing international cooperation with 96 countries of the world. Students annually train on exchange programs with universities in France, Czech Republic, Poland, Spain, Italy, Germany, Romania, Turkey, China. Our diploma is highly regarded not only in Russia, but also abroad. Additionally, students got acquitted with the possibilities of the international dialog on site of our university – students club “TIMSTUDY” invites newcomers to come along and get experience in international interaction, learning new languages and share ones’ experience in a friendly and convenient atmosphere.
The guests of the holiday were pleased with the bright presentation of the of the university's preparation directions.
University scientists, headed by the Rector Vladimir Trukhachev, discussed cooperation in the field of strawberry cultivation technologies with business representatives speaking on behalf of the Agricultural Technologies Commercialization and Implementation Fund of the Republic of Korea. The parties signed a cooperation agreement. A joint project of the RT SAU and the Korean Fund involves characteristics quality testing of the Korean strawberry varieties and the efficiency of Korean-made agricultural equipment.
The implementation of the project is planned on the basis of the Edelstein Vegetable Experimental Station for the next five years.
The project involves not only solving scientific problems, but also the opportunity to familiarize bachelors and masters of the Timiryazev Academy with the Korean technology of growing strawberries, and the publication of scientific articles. There are also plans to create a modern demonstration platform for business attraction.
