RSAU-MAA named after K.A. Timiryazev and the National Center of Biotechnology of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan united their efforts within the framework of the activities of the World-class Scientific Center "Agrotechnologies for the future". The cooperation agreement was signed by the Rector of the University, Academician of RAS, Professor Vladimir Trukhachev and General Director of NBC Erlan Ramankulov.
To date, the partner organizations are carrying out joint work on the project of deep processing of cellulose-containing plant raw materials. In the future, the parties plan to develop a joint master's program in biotechnology and plant breeding.
Our rector noted that the signing of the Agreement is an important contribution of the two respected organizations in international cooperation of Russia and Kazakhstan, obtaining new knowledge, conducting research in the field of organic synthesis and environmental biotechnology, participation of scientists in joint scientific and educational projects.
The purpose of the unique project of JSC "Rosselkhozbank" and the RT SAU was the creation of new jobs, the appearance on the market of new domestic brands with high-quality agricultural products, the development of the farming movement in the country.
Students who have successfully completed their studies and defended their graduation theses in the format of business plans will receive a special loan product "Become a Farmer" to start their own business. Three listeners became the holders of a 300,000 rubles grant from JSC "Rosselkhozbank": Andrey Shumsky ("Expansion of the apiary of a beekeeping farm"), Nikolai Shumsky ("Development of business plan elements for growing garlic in the Moscow region"), Maria Mylnikova ("Development of business plan elements for the production of environmentally friendly beekeeping products").
During the closing ceremony of the "Farmer's School" project, the rector of the Russian Timiryazev State Agrarian University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Vladimir Trukhachev presented students with state diplomas on professional retraining with the qualification "Economist - manager of a peasant (farm) economy". The document gives the right to conduct professional activities in the field of entrepreneurship and agriculture.
According to the results of participation in the world ranking UI GreenMetric World University Ranking - 2021, Timiryazev Academy took the 279th position among 956 universities from 80 countries. Among 54 Russian universities included in the rating, RSAU-Moscow Agricultural Academy is among the ten most "green".
The goal of the UI GreenMetric ranking is to rank universities according to the level of sustainable environmental development of campuses and to create an energy-saving model for managing an educational institution. The list of sustainable universities is being compiled by the University of Indonesia and published for the twelfth time. The founders of the rating strive to draw the attention of the academic community to the need to maintain a policy of sustainable development of the environment in order to solve environmental problems.
The university hosted an open lecture by Ben-Gurion University professor Ilya Gelfand. As part of an open lecture, Ilya Gelfand presented to the audience the results of his four-year scientific research on the study of the fertilizers effect on the nitrogen oxides release from the soil. The event was attended by undergraduates, postgraduates and teachers of the Agrobiotechnology Institute and the Melioration, Water Management and Construction Institute named after A.N. Kostyakov.
Also the lecturer presented his new projects, the purpose of which is to study the biogeochemical mechanisms that control the release of nitric oxide and nitric oxide in the Negev Desert and the Dead Sea Valley soils.
At the end of the open lecture, acting Director of the Agrobiotechnology Institute Sergey Belopukhov presented the activities of the Institute's scientists, and the head of the Soil Science, Geology and Landscape Science Department Vladimir Naumov conducted an excursion for the guest in Soil and Agronomic Museum named after V.R. Williams.
The representative of the Ben-Gurion University noted the rich scientific and educational base of the Timiryazev Academy and expressed interest in cooperation with scientists from the RT SAU Ecology Department for joint research.
During visit to the university, Yulia Ogloblina got acquainted with the activities of the Center for Creativity and the University Engineering Center. The parliamentarian highly appreciated the changes that have taken place in our University in recent years, and noted the personal contribution of the rector.
As part of the round table, the results of the AgroProfi student marathon were summed up. The project is aimed at involving young people in social practice, increasing the level of social activity, identifying the most initiative students studying in agricultural educational institutions of higher education in the Russian Federation.
